INTERNATIONAL:
Firefighters Without Borders BC, Engines for El Salvador 2008
With support by a dozen Metro Vancouver Rotary Clubs including the
Rotary Club of Steveston, and with shipping coordination by the Rotary
World Help Network (of which this club is a member), three fire trucks,
a set of the Jaws of Life, and 101 sets of firefighter protective suits
were shipped to El Salvador in March 2008 by Vancouver Firefighters.

Five Vancouver Firefighters also spent 10 days in El Salvador in
April 2008 training two members from each of El Salvador's 16 fire halls
on proper use of the trucks and equipment. These Fire halls serve El
Salvador's population of 6.8 million.
The trucks and trip are the result of 3 years of planning by the
Vancouver Firefighters Engines for El Salvador project.
